With the romance 1.2 update, what will happen if you are currently dating people? Will you get the chance to experience the hangout events even if you already passed that heart level? Would you see them all at once to catch up or would you have to start a new game? As long as I don't marry someone yet, I'm hoping I'll still get to see all of these updates! Also looking forward to the marriage updates too!

The hangout events aren’t implemented yet so in theory files would get access to all relevant hangout things based on obtained heart levels
Hangout events aren’t strictly tied into relationship progression (that’s only heart event cutscenes)
So hangout events are just independent bonus special things relative to the NPC

i myself hope there's no errors with being able to continue a save file with the new update coming soon. I am almost considering avoiding townfolk in my new file to see if i can avoid conflicts.

Hi! In an older post, a dev from Stairway said that if you start dating a npc you will not be able to see it's hangout events (if you marry it, I suppose you'll be able to see the married hangout events).
For don't spoil too much, there's a way to see heart events of any npc in the game. I hope devs let you see there the hangout events of the first hearts of your spouse

oh man that is so upsetting :( it makes sense. If I just avoid romancing, I should be able to see it in the same save file theoretically??
