Adding that I have the osmium hay upgrade, and ranching is lvl 10 with the fast friends skill unlocked

It's RNG. You aren't guaranteed osmium product 100% of the time if you have osmium hay. If you restart a day, you'll get different qualities.

That very well may be. But with maxed skill, upgrades and research/development complete I should be able to expect not to get any silver quality.

Was there ever a resolution to this? I'm seeing the same thing on my current save.
The chicken in question is 146 days old, so I was wondering if that was a factor?
