Game-breaking bug: Unable to navigate menu after rebinding arrow keys (PS5)

Input mode: PS5 controller
Issue: After rebinding all arrow keys to “nothing” in the keybind settings, I can no longer navigate inside the menu. This includes the controller section from the options menu, meaning I am completely unable to reset my keybinds back to default.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the settings menu in game.
2. Go to the keybinding section.
3. Rebind all arrow keys (up, down, left, right) to “nothing”.
4. Now, the game no longer allows any menu navigation since the arrow keys are required.
5. I am stuck in the options menu, unable to move left, right, up or down and can't reset the keybinds.

What happens:
• I cannot navigate in the option menu at all.
• There is no way to reset controls to default.
• Restarting the game allows you to go to options using R2 and L2, but in the confirmation window to reset the keybinds you can't navigate to 'Yes' (see screenshot).

Expected behavior:
• The game should not allow players to unbind essential navigation keys without an alternative input method.
• There should be a failsafe option (such as a button combination) to reset keybinds outside of the menu.

Possible workaround attempts (none worked):
• Restarted the game.
• Looked for a reset option outside the game.

This is a critical bug because it completely prevents the player from playing the game. I am now stuck with the last keybinds I set, but since they make navigation impossible and playing the game impossible, I'm not stuck and all that that I can do is delete the save file. I hope you can fix this.

Do you have a video showing your in-game Controller Settings in detail?
Also, have you tried plugging the mouse into your PS5 and playing the game, will the issue resolved?

Your game doesn’t support mouse and keyboard for the PS5. The work around girlienerd posted on the post you referred to is on the pc. I’m stuck on PS5, all I can do is delete my save file but it’s months of work. I don’t have high hopes if the post is already 6 months old and not fixed yet. 😦
Can you guys fix it fast? Or do you recommend just deleting. I kinda just wanna play.

Hi Jimme! I'm one of the team here, and I'm really sorry you're running into this issue—it’s definitely not the experience we want for you! 🙏

We're still investigating since we haven't been able to replicate the problem yet, so we can’t say for sure if it’ll be a quick fix. If possible, could you share screenshots of your controller binding settings? That would really help us pinpoint which binding that might be causing the issue.

As for your save file, we don’t recommend deleting it! You’ve put in so much time and effort, and we don’t want you to lose that progress. If you’re eager to keep playing while we work on a fix, there’s a workaround—you can create a new PS5 profile and start a fresh save there. Since controller settings are tied to your account, this might help you play without the issue. And once we release a fix, you can always return to your original save!

Yes I know I can start over but I was almost town rank S. Anyway, I already did it 3 times because I love the game.

It’s in the modern layout. But since I can’t scroll this is it. I used R1 to clear all d-pad (directional pad) keys, then saved with square button on controller.

You have a ps5 test environment? Because it’s probably different on pc with ps5 controller then on ps5 itself.
