Repro:
- in manual cooking
- have enough ingredients to have multiple pages
- using a controller
- add an ingredient on a page
- use l2/r2 to switch pages of ingredients
- without using the dpad to select another item, add the item under the cursor
- crash to desktop with stack trace and reporting dialog from unreal.
Repro rate: happened back to back while trying to work through cooking recipes with 12 pages of items.
Platform: Steam
Version: afaik 1236 (latest on steam as of today)
Input mode: controller (wireless ps5 controller using steam input, as game does not pick up the controller directly in wireless mode)
I don't have a save file handy.
I've noticed that 100% of the time if I use r1 to quick transfer a stack of items, it doesn't refresh detail page on the side or the tool tip over the cursor without using the dpad to navigate. I see similar things happening in the crash report above.
My naive guess at a root cause is that when the item/stack is added, the inventory is changed and not triggering a refresh of the selected item under the cursor. with a normal single page this seems to be okay, as when you press the r1 button again it just moves the stack under the cursor. But if you change pages, there's no longer a valid reference and it crashes.
My hopeful solution is refreshing the cursor position whenever the inventory changes (quantities not just stacks), and not on say, a keypress. I'm not 100% this would fix the cooking crash, but considering without adding anything to the recipe, hitting r2 to change pages and add something I THINK does not cause a crash, this would fix the issue. It would also fix one of my bigger annoyances, where when transferring stacks based on information in the detail page, I have to move a stack, move off the spot I was on, and then move back to see if something is say, a vegetable or not.
