I have fencing around my barns for all animals. How much room do they need? I am wondering if I can take away some area, so I can place more barns? And is there any way to place the barns facing a different direction?

They don’t need much room, but pigs and luwaks need grass to drop their product.
There’s no way to place barns facing different directions, because the buildings do not have a back, so it would take making new models for each building and its variants

Fencing is convenient for the animals that drop their products outside, so you aren't searching your entire farm for them, but other than that, there's no reason you have to

@placid star I have a unrelated question: in the caves in the ocean, what is there to do but break rocks/collect trash? You collect so much, then a door opens on one of the 4 sides--and leads to another room, and on & on. Is there an end? Is there any purpose to these caves--except for collecting trash/rocks/chests?
