I have been adding offerings as I go, and lately when I go to that high dropoff point--to the north of the park--and I step to the edge of the cliff, I see the notation pop up that I need 18 offerings. I had 16 at that time. I have made at least 6 more offerings, and am waiting for that area to open. How does that count work? I am thinking of single offerings. Is that not right?

its not done by individual items. like "giving 10 wood" does not count as 1

I would add you can always check how many you've completed and how many are left in the lake altar, there is 'altar' in the middle that shows your progress @outer iris
