Hi hi @sacred birch. So sorry about the crash you've experienced!
Can you share the full crash log in here? You can access them by copy-paste this file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes filter the files by date to find the most recent one and send the .xml file here
Also, can you please try to verify the integrity of game files by right-clicking the game on Steam Library > Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files to see if you can finally open the game without crashing?
Thank you! 🙂
i verified the files integrity then i uninstalled the game completely and re installed the game and still crashes
Thanks for sharing this and letting us know that verifying the integrity of the game files didn’t work! 😮
Could you tell us which part of the game is crashing? Are you able to launch the game to the main menu before it crashes? If possible, sharing a video of the issue would be really helpful for us to investigate further 🙂
Sure I will send a video one moment
?
Alright, thanks for sharing the video! I’ll forward this to the team and get back to you as soon as I have an update. Appreciate your patience!
thank you kindly
Hi again @sacred birch. Can you share your RAM specs? Also are you playing using HDD/SSD? You can check how to do it here https://techguided.com/how-to-check-your-computer-specs/ 🙂
Ok did my ram and specs change that drastically for the game to all of a sudden stop working after almost a year of playing? What changed within the game that's causing these crashes? Nothing about my pc has changed...
That’s exactly what we’re trying to figure out! Based on the crash log code, it might have something to do with your RAM. Could you share the specs so we can check? 🙂
Sure I did a system restore that's almost finished
Okay, please do let us know again!
That's correct! Could you also open Task Manager and go to the Performance tab so we can see if you're using HDD/SSD? 🙂
Okie dokie! I'll share this with the team and get back to you again
thank you ❤️
Hi again @sacred birch. It looks like we're still need some information. Could you please provide a screenshot of your Local Disk C, similar to this one? 🙂
Additionally, could you please share a video of you opening the Task Manager's performance tab while launching Coral Island and when it crashes? This will help us assess your system's performance during the crash. Thanks so much for your help!
Thank you so much! I'll share this with the teams right away
Hi @sacred birch. Thank you for your patience! I have an update from the teams. Could you let me know if you're using any mods? If you are, it might be causing the crash during loading, as outdated mods can conflict with the game. You can try disabling the mods to see if that resolves the issue 🙂
If you're not using mods, could you please try switching to the Beta branch to see if you can get into the game without crashing? Here’s how to access the Beta version: #mp-announcement message
Let me know how it goes. Thank you!
i am pretty positive i dont have any mods but if i did where would i deactivate them just in case? i am also doing the second option
the game still crashed after doing option 2
i looked at all the files and i dont see any mods either
no mods folder
Unfortunately, we can’t really help with checking mods since Coral Island doesn’t officially support mods. However, you could try asking other community members in the #💡modding-suggestions channel—they might be able to help! 🙂
Another option you can try is to completely uninstall Coral Island, clear out its files, and then reinstall it. Here's how to do it:
- Uninstall Coral Island from Steam.
- Open your folder and navigate to Local Disk (C:) (or the drive where the game is installed).
- Go to SteamLibrary > steamapps > common and delete the Coral Island folder entirely.
- Reinstall the game via Steam.
Based on the crash log, it seems there may be outdated files or data causing the game to crash. By removing all files during uninstallation, hopefully any problematic files are cleared before reinstalling. Thank you! 😊
Thank you I got in
You’re able to play the game now? Yay, that’s fantastic news! 🎉
