Town Rank Points Not Leveling up Town E to D

Error: Not sure if this is part of the game or a glitch but town ranking points on my game only accumulate every few nights. Due to this I scored about 700 town rank points in one night, causing the bar to lap over itself, start over, and only unlock 1 reward (500 coins or 10 silver ore). Afterwards the following rewards did not unlock and my town rank seems even lower than when before I got all these points. I accidentally skipped past but after clearing 8 of the underwater shrine things and donating 30ish things to the museum (not including the 20 I already had) and a festival and finishing the museum kickstarter quest I'm still not Level D. Didn't snag a screenshot of the EOD menu because I was gobsmacked but here's a pic of me day after checking to see if my progress went up (it did not). I also did not unlock anything from level D in the store. Also to be clear I understand how merit points work and how they are a different system and this has nothing to do with merit points I believe.

I played a few more days to see if it would fix itself or load up later and it did not

@gleaming stratusFellow player here. Lower is point breakdown for your town rank.
Right now here is how leveling up works, for each town rank game shows amount of points you need to reach until the next rank. It shows the difference between one and the next, F and E, E and D and so on. Your points started over from rank F after you donated to museum and cleared some sites in the ocean and now you are in the rank E.
As you can see in the town board, before you reached rank E on Summer 11, previous rank is F. So by that logic and point breakdown below all is good.

To reach town rank D you need 1100 points (400 - from rank F to rank E, and next 700 - from rank E to rank D).
You have 400(to town rank E)+273(to town rank D)=673 points

From what I see on your town rank page:
Ocean - restored 20 sites for 10 points each = 2010=200 points
Heritage = made 4 offerings = 445 = 180+30 = 210
Museum - this is based on the points and rank you have.
So Museum Rank F is 134 points, you're on rank E with 129 points.
134+129 = 263 (museum points) - 50 = 213 (points for the donations Museum) / 3 = 71 donations to the museum

200 (ocean)+210 (heritage)+263 (museum)=673 - this your town rank score. Everything tracks.

Let's say that this is completely accurate- which it probably is and I'm just wrong- then there's still an error in the town rank bar completely leveling up when it should only be a small segment, or that the UI only totals the town rank points like once every 10 days on the EOD screen.

But also if its right thats a relief because I didn't want to start over lol

Because for me what happened is that it logged legitimately like over 50 things all in one night then completely leveled up my town rank and then some to the point where it started from the left again but only unlocked one reward, I felt like that there had to be something wrong there

So yeah, it leveled you up from rank F to rank E after you made museum donations. That is why after you opened the journal the bar with points filled up. There is no reward for going from one rank to another. Only rewards are from museum (5, 10, 20, 30, etc.) and completing altars.
And since journal tracks points for only specific rank, after you reached rank E - the point count started over and the goal is now 700 points for rank D. After you reach 701 or more points, the count will start again but with 1 out of 750.
Does that make sense?

Yeah it does but what I'm saying is that I was always Rank E- I know this because of the cutscenes and characters talking about how we reached it. So it went from E to filling up all the way to E again

So even if everything is fine that means there's a glitch with the town rank level up screen regardless

Also I thought there were town rank bench marks- the game asked if I wanted 500 gold or 10 silver ore

So basically it means the NPC dialogue was incorrect. The team will look at your save file and ask if they need anything, because from what I see in your town rank UI is that the town rank and your points are in line.

For the team:
After comicsands made several donations to the museum their town rank went up, and was supposed to go from F to E. But they say that even before that NPC's dialogue and UI was reflecting rank E.
According to the town rank screenshot that they sent #1328958070247653458 message the amount of points lines up for rank E and for each category. @zealous rock

I hit another checkpoint again in the game and I think all the data is fine its just the level up bar is wrong

Hi, I just joined the discord, so not sure if it's correct to add to this bug report thread, but I'm experiencing the same issue that @gleaming stratus is having in this image above. My points are well over the requirement to move up to rank C, but it hasn't triggered yet making my access to winter seeds impossible. Has there been an update to this?

@marsh lagoon Hi, not a dev. What comicsands described is misunderstanding. Game counts points in 2 ways:

1. total amount of points from rank F to rank S and everything in between which is 5050. This is what is shown on the screenshot from them at the end of day recap as 1991 points (from rank F to rank C)
2. amount of points from one rank to another, which takes 750 points to rank C from rank D. This you can see in the journal in the town rank tab.
   And basically everything is counted correctly.

So can you send your town rank screenshot from the journal, save file and clarify based on what points are you thinking you're supposed to reach it. If it's on the end of day recap points where you see point less than 1850 that's total amount from rank F to rank D.

Thanks for taking the time to message! I tried playing to get an end of day recap points, but I only get the point recap every so often, maybe after several days. I'll try and take a picture whenever it comes up again!

So recap is after you reached a third way of the next town rank. If your town rank in the journal is D than that is correct.
I would also add that you can plant wild seeds and get tea leaves in winter
