Your save file is most likely stored in the 'compatdata' directory. The filepath is: /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata.
From there, you will see many folders with random numbers. The Coral Island folder should have the code number '1158160'.
Enter that folder, then navigate to the pfx folder, then drive_c folder. Follow this path: Users<username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames to find your save file.

The problem is as soon as I'm in decoration mode and want to put something into storage, I can't get out without restarting - as you can see in the video. Changing the decorations is no problem
I had the same issue, not on steam deck. Trying to place an item in decorating mode, then putting it away led to the game freezing. Unable to leave the menu and had to force a restart.
Could you explain which items caused the issue? In your video, it happened because you moved the wooden chest. Does it only occur when you move the wooden chest?
Could you try to replicate the issue and record a video of it so we can take a closer look? Also can you share your save file here?

Hello again @cyan oriole Could you please show us your house storage? If your house storage is full or nearly full, could you try reducing the number of items stored and then attempt to use decor mode again? After doing so, please let us know if the issue still occurs.
