I ate my wellness fruit on level 100 of the cave of memories and now I am stuck and unable to move. I can use tools, but I’m stuck in place where I ate the fruit

I was also stuck eating a stamina fruit from the merit shop and had to reset the day

Reproduction Steps: Obtain a wellness/stamina fruit and eat it form both merit shop and on level 100 cave of memories

Yes I've had this issue twice now, once getting a fruit from the merit points and just now from level 50 of the Cave of memories. The game isn't frozen and I can still go into menus and change tools, but the character wont animate or move with the arrow buttons. The next day the character is still frozen in place and the game has to be reset.

I don’t have anything from just before the event. It happened the first time after I got it from the merit shop first thing in the morning. Then again in the cave of memories on level 100

Hi Laeanna, for Steam Deck - you can find the save file following these steps:

  • Your save file is most likely stored in the 'compatdata' directory. The file path is: /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata.
  • From there, you will see many folders with random numbers. The Coral Island folder should have the code number '1158160'.
  • Enter that folder, then navigate to the pfx folder, then drive_c folder.
    Follow this path: Users<username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames and zip the SaveGames folder to attach it here.

For both occurrences I only have videos after the fact. Both times it was after 7pm and in winter. 1st time I purchased a fruit from the merit shop inside the community centre and after character ate it I could no longer move. Same thing for the 2nd time, but I just ran across the room and opened the chest and character autonomously ate the fruit and then got stuck. I don't know if it will assist but ive uploaded the other video after it happened the 1st time if anything is the same with my character.

I was using a controller before it occurred both times. After the character was stuck I tested on a keyboard which made no difference. In the mines i was most likely holding a weapon or the pickaxe. In the community centre it was most likely the net, but possibly another tool.

Hi! I just had this as well: cave of memories lvl 100, probably holding a pickaxe or sword, using controller on pc. I got stuck by the wall south of the chest, I think I was able to dash once after eating the fruit and then got stuck. Was able to teleport out using the sesajen, but still stuck afterward. I also don't have a video.
My inventory was full when I opened the chest, don't know if that might matter (because there was no space for the fruit that got eaten immediately). I also justv realised that it's endlessly spawning the "inventory full" message while I'm waiting for my character to pass out.

Got the same problem today !
Got stuck after eating a wellness fruit in the level 50 of the cave of memory. The issue didnt happen the day before with the lvl 25 fruit. The only difference is that this time my inventory was full ... Can dash, eat, interact with my tool bar but I cannot move with the joystick.
Spring Y2 wednesday 17 at aroung 4pm in game.

Using steam deck, controler input, V1.1-1223

Had to pass out at 2 am. Could not move the morning after too. Had to restart the game.

Just had this issue happen for the first time in my game. It happened at about 22:00 on a rainy Wednesday Fall 17 year 4 after I ate a wellness fruit which I had bought through the merit shop on the sturdy computer. I don't have a recording of my gameplay sadly, but I had spent pretty much the whole day on tending my farm and going through various heart events (specifically Emily's 8 heart, Ling's 10 heart and Nina's 8 heart events). I did not have any other items in my inventory when I consumed the fruit and didn't go into the mines or use explosives of any kind.

The attached files are from before the day had ended, not sure if it would be helpful to also send files from after the game moved on to the next day

Alright, I replayed the save I sent earlier, trying my best to stick only to the activities I did the first time and the bug happened again. I do have a recording of the full in-game day of gameplay, but the file size is too large for discord so should that be something that would be helpful to have please let me know if there's some other way I could send that over

Oh, sorry - one more thing! Have you also tried purchasing and consuming the Wellness Fruit immediately after your character wakes up to see if the issue also occurs?

hi there.
I have the same issue, but it happened with the merfolk kingdom questline.
First entry into the merfolg kingdom quest - after that going outside on the left side, there is a cutszene where you get a stamina fruit.
The character automatically ate it, now i'm stuck and can't move anymore.
Everything else works just fine, like open inventory, eating something etc.

But it's literally the cutscene where you get the fruit and then the screenshot - and the character doesn't move at all

I'll post here too as the other post I responded to was marked a duplicate - I am also experiencing this issue (but with Stamina Fruit) on PC (steam, v1.1b-1237). There is a video. Whenever I try to eat a Stamina fruit, the "Your stamina has permanently increased!" message simply doesn't show up and moving with WASD/arrow keys becomes impossible.

I don't own a pet, nor have I owned one in this save file I'm afraid.
There are two situations so far in which this has occurred.
Wake up - use the teleport to the museum - receive stamina fruit - consume stamina fruit - bug.
Wake up - use the teleport to the museum - enter community centre - buy stamina fruit - consume stamina fruit - bug.
I could have a crack at walking manually to the community centre (as that one is auto-consumed) and I can attempt eating the one from the museum (which I now have in a box) immediately after waking.

Update: I can wake up, take the stamina fruit I have in storage and eat it without the bug.
I cannot walk to the community centre, buy the stamina fruit and eat it - it's bugged.
Keep in mind I am doing nothing I don't have to. No dashing, no speaking to anyone, no teleports.

Just adding my experience to the thread.

Location: Cave of Memories -- level 25 checkpoint
Description: Entered the level, opened the chest from the left side. Received wellness fruit; a game lag happens for maybe 5 seconds before it's consumed. After consumption, character is unable to move except to sprint in the direction she's already facing. She gets stuck on the wall due to sprinting.

Continued use of sprint pushes the character to the left slowly but she stays against the wall and can't turn. This is the first time making it to this level. Other menus and buttons work. WASD is used but arrow keys were tested and not usable.
Platform: PC - Steam; KB+M

I believe it was Fall 21, Year 2 around 16:10 (screenshot was taken after 17:00 but I was attempting to move for a bit before I took it). I began playing again about 5 irl hours later, so i've gone through a few in-game days. not sure if that messes up the file
