#Auto Petter and Collecter disappeared

I had a auto petter and collector in my barn, I had just collected the produce from it the day before (Thu Spring 18 Y2). And today it was storming and I went in to find both missing. Barn animals needed to be pet, but produce was collected with no collector for me to interact with. I want to say I had changed the style of the Barn yesterday or the day before.

Repro steps: enter barn? I had just noticed it.
Repro rate: first time, will check the next day, or upon game restart.
Platform: Steam

Exact same thing happened to me. This is tons of coins and resources down the drain. I’m so upset. cozych2Buncry

I'm having the same issue, it happened after remodeling the barn.

I read somewhere that removing ALL machines, then remodeling again fixes it, but that didn't work for me. I'll follow up if I find anything

I can't remove the machines because there's nothing for me to remove

and extra sucks because now I gotta re-craft the auto machines and I'm already low on osmium kelp essence as is from the bunch of other craftables I'm using them for

Okay, update, though the news isn't great:

I've tried:
*Changing the style or layout with and without machines inside
*Moving the barn with and without machines
*Verifying cache
*Full reboot

Nothing worked. The best solution i've got is to build a barn right next to your old one, then shift your animals over to the new one. It sucks hard because you're out potentially hundreds of thousands in the loss of animal products over the course of a week to get everything built, then you're out the cost of materials, construction, and machines. On the plus side, you get to keep all your animals.

Wish I had better news, hopefully this is patched in the future

cant even reload the save, because this f'ing game doesnt support backup

I reported this bug on December 22nd in another thread, but they haven’t responded yet, except to say that they were already aware of it and working on a fix. I noticed other people reported the same bug days before. I’ve stopped playing until there’s another hotfix because it’s frustrating to play without being able to collect items from the barn.

I'm in the process of building a new one, moving the animals and then destroying the old. I'll be down the resources that it takes to rebuild the stuff, but it's whatever. I'm not super bothered by it

In the meantime, you can also load your backup file by following these steps:

  • Go to settings
  • Go to Game then change the Show Backup setting to Yes
  • Go back to the title screen and click Play, activate Show Backup on the bottom left part of the screen
