#Cannot meet Paul, remains stranger, dialogue won’t trigger

I received, then completed Paul’s log quest, but I am not able to speak with him in order to hand it in. When approaching him, the ‘talk’ option A is available, but does not register when selecting. I have tried gifting something to him, but this does not come up as an option at all. He remains a stranger completely, even though I did receive one friendship heart after attending a festival. I have had no issues with triggering dialogue with any other character.

  • Reproduction Steps No specific steps taken. Completes his ‘quest’ but have had no luck speaking with him.
  • Repro Rate Non stop. Has happened since completing his ‘quest’. Cannot hand in. It’s been roughly 1.5 seasons so far
  • Game platform Xbox Series S
  • Game Version Version 1.2.14.0
  • Input Mode Controller

Hi @versed sinew and @cursive plank apologies for the delayed response! Have you had trouble interacting with him ever since you finished the quest? If it happens again, could you try to record a video of your interaction and send it here?

Also, a bad quality video. Dialogue will just not launch with this guy ever - no problems with any other characters

That’s correct! I received and completed the quest without actually ever meeting Paul, and now I just cannot hand it in.

I’m also having an issue where the sprinkler noise does not ever stop. This just recently started happening. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the game and still have the issue. Not sure if these glitches are related or not. I know that a few people had reported the sprinkler issue and there was a patch, so I’m not sure 🤷‍♀️

By completing the quest without actually ever meeting Paul, does it mean that you finally managed to report to him about the log? If not, do you remember how you managed to complete the quest?
