Stuttering issue (Steam and Game Pass PC)

Laptop specs: GTX 1660ti , 16GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.30 GHz
Platform: both on Steam and PC Game Pass.
Game version: updated to the newest possible on both platforms.

Game stutters when changing zones during walking/running. Most notably in the town center area but also in many other places.

Tried lowering graphic settings to everything lowest possible and I play with 30fps locked. This unfortunately does not resolve the issue. The graphic drivers are updated with the most recent updates via Geforce Experience and no other programs are running in the background. Not experiencing this issue in any other game.

I also have this problem with the steam game. I tried low to epic graphics, vsync, amdfreesync on and off, fps lock and nothing seems to work.

Sorry that you're experiencing this problem! Did you open any other app while playing Coral Island?

Also, can you let us know if you're using HDD or SSD and if you've tried changing the graphics card to always use the High Performance one for Coral Island?

Hi! No other app was running in the background, Coral Island is set to use the high performance NVIDIA graphics card in the geforce settings and it is installed on the SSD drive.

Also tried disabling steam and Nvidia overlays but that doesnt make any difference

AMD Ryzen 5900xt, radeon 6800xt, 32gb ram, game is installed on the nvme of 1tb. I cant record it at the moment but its the exact stutter in adam video.

Thank you so much for your confirmation @versed ravine & @gray galleon , could you also confirm how many FPS you see when the stuttering occurs?

To enable the FPS counter you can open Steam (top left screen) > Settings > In-Game and ensure Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game is turned on.

For better readability, you can change the In-game FPS counter to “top-right” and enable the In-game FPS counter to high contrast.

I have it set to 30fps lock. Geforce overlay shows dips to 26-27 fps for a brief moment when the stutter happens

I used the amd overlay and i noticed that micro stutter bar, never seen that in other games. Anyway as you can see it goes up and down running in town and the fps drops 1-4.

It happens when moving between areas everywhere. It seems the most noticable in town center though. Game doesnt stutter when doing activities in the same small area. It stutters when running somewhere else like its loading the assets for a micro second. There are spots where it always happens consistently. (for example stairs near the museum or entering the town from the farm).

We have now released a hotfix to optimize loading in several areas! Could you try updating the game and let us know if the issue is still happening?

Thanks for working on the issue! I'm happy to report that at least for me it improved after the update. occasional stutters still happen but these are less noticable and happen less frequently. It's definetly more comfortable to play right now.

You guys are the best devs honestly. The stutters have gone down considerably, it still stutters when moving from area to area tho but its not as bad.
