Any fix for Peacowl Feathers?

I read that there's a bug where you have to literally stand in the coop in order to get the Fowl to drop feathers, is that intentional? It works, but it is very time wasting

If you can let them outside, that also works. No standing there needed! Or you get an auto-collector!
