Crash after Merfolk Kingdom Cutscene

• Reproduction Steps: After being allowed into the Kingdom and the Cutscene, where you are brought into the barracks ends the game crashes

• Repro Rate: tried 3 times, crashed 3 times

• Game Platform: Steamdeck

• Game Version: v1.1b-1231

Hi hi @rigid stratus @regal cosmos. Thank you for letting us know about the crash issue! Could you please share your backup save file and crash log with us? This will help our team investigate the problem more effectively

To locate the crash log, please check the 'compatdata' folder at this file path: /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/. Inside, you’ll see several folders with random numbers. The Coral Island folder is identified by the code 1158160.
Navigate to that folder and follow this path: pfx > drive_c > Users > <your_username> > AppData > Local > ProjectCoral > Saved > Crashes. In the 'Crashes' folder, you’ll find a .xml file, which is the crash log.

As for the save file, it’s located in the same file path. Once you open the Saved folder, you’ll find the save files inside the SaveGames folder. Theh backup stored within the Backup folder inside the SaveGames directory 🙂

I'm having the exact same issue on steam deck. I can't progress under water.

I've done it once on my old save, and also did it one a brand new save twice (once skipping cutscene, once not), and i get the exact same crash

i had the same issue yesterday. retried it 3 times but now my save seems gone. i bypassed it by playing on the pc and then going back to steam deck but i do go up at the end of the day every time.

yes thats how i did it. i used my laptop just to get trough that cutscene and then went back to my steamdeck

i finished the cutscene in the barracks, then went outside and with the teleporter i went back to the farm and saved game there. it worked for me. you can also if you went to the lower level sea use the anchor to go back to the pier.

I am experiencing the same issue on steam deck. Although I cannot find where the crash log and save data are. I don’t have the pathways that the dev suggested. I never go on desktop mode. I don’t know anything techy about the steam deck. Super lost on how to share those files 😞

My downloads list had an update from a few hours ago but there were no patch notes and the cutscene still crashes. I'm guessing they haven't released it yet, hopefully in the next couple of days

Not sure if this is the right place to add context? I am having the same crash running the game on an ROG Ally X through Bazzite OS. So it may be Linux/Proton related and not unique to Steamdeck

My game is stuck on Spring 28 because I've been working hard to go get that chambered nautilus on the last day since i got all the other spring stuff year 1. Really hoping this gets fixed too, it's kind of draining to clear up the trash over and over just for it to crash.

May not be an option for everyone, but if you have a PC you can play through the day on PC, get past the scene and save that day, let the cloudsave sync, then go back to playing on the steamdeck. Not ideal and not everyone has a PC on top of the Steamdeck but its an option if you are stuck.

Huh that's to bad. What OS is your PC running? Windows 7/10/11? I was getting this crash on my Ally X with bazzite but no crash when I played through the day on my Windows 10 PC

Have you completed the monster drop for the temple offering ? you get one as a reward

Might be worth gathering that info to provide the team here, as far as I know its only been reported to be happening on Steamdeck or other Linux Operating systems. If its happening on a version of Windows as well they may need that info

Total sadness! Soon as I was allowed access to the merfolk room in ther barracks, the game crashed on me too! I was looking forward to the Merfolk Kingdom the most and progressing through it. (Also playing it on Steam Deck). If anyone knows how to fix it, or if there's a patch update, please let me know!

I ended up clearing my way up to that gate and then save. That way, when it is fixed, or if you wanna test the crash again, you don’t have to clear more trash to get there.
