Can't rebind Y button on controller

[Using xbox controller on PC steam for context.]
Whenever I try to bind the Y button on my controller (specifically to the 'open inventory screen' button) it brings up the "Are you sure you want to restore the default settings?" screen and bugs out the screen. The only way out of the bugged screen is by pressing the back button, but then when I try saving my changed controls it resets everything to default instead. The last time I played I think a few months ago (?) this wasn't an issue.

Also while I'm here, is there a way to completely clear a keybind, specifically on controller? Can't seem to figure it out o(-( Thx!

Not too sure how to take a video to demonstrate, sorry, but if anyone knows an alternate way to the xbox gamebar recording im very willing to try if needed!

Hiya @rancid arrow. Our team has checked this and confirmed that it’s not an issue. To rebind your Y button, you’ll need to press the X button to open up the panel, then press the Y button twice, and finally click 'Apply.' Could you try this and let us know if it works for you? 👀

nah not working for me o(-(

(sorry for pics i couldnt screenshot) first press of A button (A, not X)

first press of Y button (the button i wish to bind)

second press of Y button (confirmation)

and then thats the bugges screen

i can only get out of it by pressing B

and THEN when i press X to apply all changes, the Y rebind isnt there

Also, can you let me know your current game version? I noticed in here you're still on 1.1b-1229. If you update to the latest version (1.1b-1231), does the issue still occur?

im not able to update to the latest if so, i dont think

i'll open it just to double check

i didnt realise i had auto update on mb haha

I’ve reported the issue to the team, and they’ll begin working on it. In the meantime, as a temporary fix, you can try binding your controller directly from the main menu; this should prevent it from overlapping with the restore-to-default command. Thank you!
