I had the same issue of traps turning invisible.
Reproduction Steps: After the Animal Festival on Summer 12, my traps turned invisible. They stayed invisible until I reloaded the game on Summer 14.
Game Platform: Steam
Game Version: v1.1b-1231
Input Mode: K+M
