I received the letter from the monkey in the cabin, but when I approach the window where he usually comes out, the shutters stay shut and rocking. It does show a Shop prompt at some angles where I can access his menu, but it's difficult to access normally.
Playing on Steam with an Xbox controller. Is constant thus far, so I haven't been able to "reproduce" it as yet. Could reach this point in my newest save to see if the problem is reproducable.
Inputting for "Inspect" plays the "odd cabin" dialogue, while "Shop" opens the menu. It's a very minute difference in stance as you can see.
Either way, approaching the cabin doesn't play the animation of the monkey coming out of the shuttered window.
I would understand if this particular reason was that it's raining and he doesn't want to get wet, but that doesn't explain the prompt discrepancies.

I am also getting this issue, can only access the shop when standing in a specific spot just left of the barrel and the monkey does not come out. Also on steam.

Have there been any updates on fixing this issue? I am at the point in the game where I need to purchase a specific item in order to complete a Guardian Altar. Basically, not being able to shop at this shack is going to end my game progress.

I finally managed to maneuver my character and cursor in such a way that I could open the "shop" option. This is really frustrating. You NEED to be able to purchase a Plop Backpack for one of the Guardian Altars and this is the ONLY source for this item. For the sake of others that are still having this issue, I hope it gets fixed soon, or perhaps add an additional location where one can purchase the Plop Backpack so they aren't locked out of completing the Mural just because the vendor (Concerned Monkey) never opens the shop or appears.
