Automated Chest not Automating

My automation chests are only sometimes moving things along, plenty of materials will be in the chest and nothing will be fed in although if manually added, does seem to be collected. Also for some reason, unsure if it's related, I'm still seeing it as something I can unlock in the lab although I've already bought the pattern
Reproduction Steps: Automation chests set up in shed, various machines, with appropriate and plentiful supplies in the chest (also had this issue when I had the machines and automated chests next to my house prior to building a shed)
Repro Rate: Kiln, dehydrator, cheese and mayonnaise machines never automatically refill
Game Platform: Steam
Game Version: 1.1.1226
Input Mode: Controller (PS5)

We received a similar report and are still gathering more info about this issue. Do you happen to have a video of when the Auto Chest not automating during your gameplay? 😮

As for the Auto-chest that appears after being developed in Ling's Lab, the team is aware of this issue and still working on a fix!

I saw another post where the OP was advised to add their information here for updates on any fixes, so I wanted to add my information, as I'm still having this same issue where my automation chests do not automate.
Reproduction Steps: Automation chests set up in shed or near house do not refill after the initial fill of processing machines. The automation chests will continue to pull finished items from the processing machines if I manually add items. Will begin refilling processing machines when in a shed if I activate decorate mode, click on the chest, and then cancel and back out of decorate mode.
Repro Rate: Kiln, recylcing machine, cheese presses, and mayonnaise machines don't refill after first placement on between two machines. Other machines may work, but I have not tried them yet.
Game Platform: Steam
Game Version: 1.1b-1228
Input Mode: Keyboard/Mouse/Controller (Xbox)

Has anyone in these posts tried to pick up the chests after as well? I'm encoutering an issue with the first and last chest won't pick up and it says "Item being used by another player" which I'm not sure if it would be related and should be posted here or in a new report.

I have only used chests one at a time, not making the conveyer belt system.

I am experiencing the same issue as well. The automatic chests work only the first time (when i place the chest) and then do not fill up anymore.

I'm using the most recent version via steam, and this problem is still there. (sorry if this is the wrong/old thread, I looked for this problem and got sent here)

I have some more info. If the chests are in the shed after leaving the game for awhile, the automation starts once I enter it. The day after, they stop working again. I used the recycling machine and the furnace, and from what I can tell the recycling machine worked, however I notice the furnace didn't.

I think it's random because in my game the recycle machine don't work either. The only things that seem to work well are keg and aging barrel.

It could be, I'm trying these out and one thing I can say is also the chests don't play nice with different quality items. for example, I have blueberries of all sorts of quality for the keg. Once the gold quality it started with is done, it won't load in the silver blueberries. Big thing is all chests will take product from the machines and put them in the chest 100% of the time.

Edit: May not be so random, the recycling machine starts working with the chest when i put trash in the first space. Maybe the chests arent reacting with the other spaces as well?
