Reproduction steps: I cleared the barrier in the ocean to go deeper than 46 ft and follow the black tentacles thing. It just won't let me pass, like i didn't get rid of the barrier and the tentacles won't retreat.
Repro rate: every time I try to go through. I quit and restarted the game. I uninstalled and re installed the game and it still doesn't work.

There is currently no bug that prevents progressing the ocean. It seems like you can't go the 50m area, it means that you missed some sites in the 40 meters. Open the map, zoom out and check - you should have opened 22 sites at Empat Pulu (40m - Gold Kelp) zone.

Can you send screenshot of your full ocean map zoomed out to see how many sites there are completed and your location on the map?
It's one of two things, you're either stopped at the border between 40m and 50m, then you need to finish clearing more sites and the golden kelp zone.
Or you're at some of the barrier points, then you need to probably retract and go the other way. Map is helpful with both cases

I am experiencing a similar issue but mine is not counting the activated sites. so, I am blocked from one area and even though I can go to the lava cave nothing is registering.
