I'm in my first play-through and currently on the 1. day of autumn in my first year. So admittedly I haven't played for that long yet, but so far all the characters seem a bit flat to me. It's probably because the last two games I played with romance options were voiced which gives the characters more depth, but yeah, right now I'm struggling to relate to any of the NPC. I feel like I don't know anything about them. For example Suki. I know she has a kid and a twin sister. She has stretch marks and pink hair tips. Or Mark. So far the only things I know are that he is very rude but seems to have a good heart and loves animals.
To be fair, I'm not going out of my way to talk to everyone every single day and I only really do gifting on birthdays and festival days, so I have like 2 hearts with most of them at this point.
My question is, does this get better? How did you decide who to romance? And when did you decide it? Just looking to get a feel if I have to put more effort in to socialise with them or if it is generally a bit slow for everyone and it will pick up the pace.
