The main collections (all fish, all bug, all fossils, all gems, all artifacts) yes. For the sub-collections that are in the rewards bit of the donation box menu are just cosmetic for finishing those bits.
So you won’t get bonus points for completing the sharks, just a shark costume.

It’s 3 points for each donation then 40 (or 45) points for completing a whole collection.

If you finish ALL the fossils then you get 40 points.
