  • Title I have zero sound in my game, including menus, in game, or anywhere. No music, sound effects, or anything. Sound is turned up maximum on my external speakers as well as in game (10 on all settings). This is a new issue as of today
  • Reproduction Steps I have reinstalled the game, restarted my system several times and it still occurs.
  • Repro Rate All of the time
  • Game Platform Steam Deck
  • Game Version v1.1-1226
  • Input Mode Steam Deck (controller) but also keyboard and mouse. No sound in desktop mode and also game mode.
  • Your save file
  • Attachment Attached

Also, I have verified Steam files through Steam > properties > verify game files. This did not help. I do not have this issue with any other Steam game.

Any assistance would be great 🙂

Hi there! Oh, do you remember if you changed any in-game Settings previously before the issue occurred?

Do you happen to have a video of the issue? We need to see and hear when there's no sound in your gameplay and also the details of your in-game Music Settings. If you're able to record the details, it will be very helpful!

A phone-recorded video will work. Kindly send it whenever you can. Thank you! approve2

This happens to me too, any other games, music and anything works normally, but somehow Coral Island alone won’t produce any sound from starting the game, the menu, and playing the game itself

Hello everyone! Thank you for sending the videos to us. I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I'll relay this to the team for checking and get back to you once there's any update. Thank you! goatlove2

Hi @coarse wagon and @astral kraken, sorry to ping you, just to make sure that you get the notif. May we ask about your in-game activities on the day before the sound totally missing? Do you happen to experience any crash issues on that day? We need to know your detailed activities so we can try to replicate your steps. Thank you!

# oak parcel Hi <@676309927853293568> and <@709009583758245899>, sorry to ping you, just to m...

Hello @oak parcel , please feel free to tag me directly otherwise I don't see this very easily. The in-game day before I was diving, I recall. I don't remember if my game specifically crashed the exact in- game day before this one however at some point in my real time day, the game froze while saving/sleeping at night. After googling I found out I could exit then enter and it will have saved. The sound was working immediately after this, but stopped later on (in real time day, maybe an hour or so later). Happy to send other back up saves if you need. I'm excited to continue playing this game and will happily send you everything you need to try and fix this.

Thank you for your reply, everyone @coarse wagon @astral kraken! May I ask if you have tried to back to the previous in-game day from the Backup feature to see if the sound works in the previous save file? And yes, could you please send us your Backup files as well so we can check them?

#

Your save and backup file is most likely stored in the 'compatdata' directory. The filepath /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata.
From there, you will see many folders with random numbers. The Coral Island folder should have the code number '1158160'.

Enter that folder, then navigate to the pfx folder, then drive_c folder. Follow this path: Users<username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames to find your save file. The Backup file is inside the SaveGames folder as well. Thank you!

Yes it does, I included steam menu operations in my video I sent originally @oak parcel - you can see me opening the menu. Do you need a further video still?

Hi @oak parcel , sorry for the late reply. I actually bought a new gaming PC and have been playing on that for a while. The issue still occurs on my Steam Deck but I have been streaming it from my PC. Do you still need a video from me? The issue is still persisting. I do browse the menu in my original video though, if you could let the team know that?

Hi @oak parcel - I just started making the video for you and I’m pleased to say the sound has come back!!! It must have been fixed in a recent update. I’m so pleased, thanks for your help and the devs for fixing it.
