TLDR; Coral Island save file has disappeared from my steam deck, any help retrieving it is much appreciated!
Hi everyone, I have a problem that I hope someone can help with. I have been playing Coral Island on my steam deck, really been enjoying it. I got to late spring in year 2, then had to stop playing for a few days. When I went to load up my game again yesterday, it was saying my most recent save was for the middle of Fall in year 1. I can't find anywhere that explains where my previous save has gone, and I'm feeling really disheartened by it. I had been really pushing to make lots of money, upgrade my house, clear the ocean etc., and now almost half of my work has just disappeared 😢
I've only been playing on my steam deck, I don't have a PC so the game hasn't been swapped between platforms or anything. The steam cloud is always up to date too, so it should save my progress in the cloud as well as on the steam deck. When I've been playing over the last few weeks, I wait until the end of the day, make sure the game has saved and the next day is loaded in, then fully turn the game and steam deck off. All the previous times, it has loaded the most recent save with no problems, I have no idea what's happened. If it was only a day or two in game that I'd lost, I wouldn't mind doing them again, but over two months? I just don't have the enthusiasm to redo all of that 😔
Does anyone have any idea if I can retrieve my save file? And if so, how would I go about it? I'm not a techie person at all, and I know a lot of steam deck solutions require a lot of complicated steps, so if anyone does have a solution that requires more than 'press this button then press this button', I would greatly appreciate the most simplified version possible!
