I got a coop and I'm confused by how to use the hay. I can place it in the tray to feed the animals, and when I click on the silo with an empty hand it says 'you have not put any hay in this silo' or something similar, but when I try to interact with it while holding hay nothing happens. What am I missing?

The hay storage inside the barns and coops is only functional/will store hay once you have built a silo.
