I got this quest earlier, beginning of fall, saw the cutscene and everything. I went to the giants village and met him where he described what he wanted to do with the earth giant.
Yesterday (IRL time) i saw the cutsceene again when going to town where gong is playing witha kid and dog.
this picture is when i woke up today ^. This is already in my inventory except the "go to the giants village" is not crossed out as it was before the cutscene.
and this is after the previous picture. just to show that it is happening a second time
