#PS5 or Steam?

I’m looking to buy the game, and was hoping the Switch version would be out or coming out soon, but I see there was an issue and it seems to be on hold for an undetermined amount of time.

So now I’m considering PS5 but I see the same problem affecting the switch was thought to affect the current console game hot fixes and updates. I did see that the newest update just got pushed through for the console games, so I’m a little hopeful that they will keep coming in the future (even if they lag behind the computer version a tad)

I know the steam version is the best version. Fastest updates and access to mods. But I’m a little concerned my laptop won’t be able to keep up. It’s a little older but I don’t have it by me right now to be able to compare spec requirements.

Assuming the laptop can play the game well, which would you all recommend I get? PS5 or Steam?

I personally recommend PC > console in the case where the PC can handle it - for any game, regardless of specifics.

The fact that the console ports were supposed to be handled by Humble Games which no longer has any employees as I understand it, and so the console changes may be harder to make/push moving forward until things get fixed? Further reason.

But if your PC is really weaksauce and won't be able to handle the game, PS5 version is better than struggling computer.

Personally my computer is one I built for gaming.......... A long time ago. When the GTX 1070 was brand new (~8 years?), and that's what I've got in it to this day. Honestly if the computer is anything modern and has a dedicated graphics card it's probably fine.

My girlfriend has a similar problem. She doesn't have a gaming laptop/pc and the old one she has doesn't have enough performance for the game. She was hoping that CI would come out for the Nintendo Switch at some point and she backed the game for Nintendo Switch in 2021.
I know the latest news was that Switch backers will get another chance to switch their keys to Steam, but that doesn't make sense in her case and we're wondering if she can at least switch her key to the PS5 version. Does anyone have any information on this?

I'm sorry if this issue has already been covered somewhere, but I couldn't find any useful information.
