#Daily Crash/Unloadable save resolve (Probably not the right section)

So my wife has been having the same issues as everyone else. Crashing after every day (auto saves and upon loading new day crashes to home screen). Also recently she lost access to her save file with hundreds of hours of progress. This morning I sat down and finally fixed it (I think).

Platform: XBox Series S

Game version: Most recent update downloaded to console, no game pass or subscription services from Microsoft.

This was timed with a console update for the XBox, which may have been the actual reason it works now (I stream Cult of the Lamb and was having crash issues as well so it is very possible the console had its own issues or memory leaks).

I enabled backups and loaded into the game 1 day back from her most recent save.

Before this I enabled 24Hz display in the consoles display settings.

I know this seems trivial and unrelated, but this is the primary reason it takes developers awhile to fix these issues, everyone's consoles are set up so differently that sometimes certain setting configurations cause unintended results that either the game, or the hardware cannot adequately support and causes problems such as crashing.

RESULT: The daily crashing at save no longer happens, and she has full access to her save.

So before giving up on the game make sure your console is fully up to date, and go through display settings, even audio settings, and make some changes and see if something helps.

Hopefully someone finds this helpful and others are able to re access data they thought was lost.

#

One other thing, the clock in game is reset to military time when before it was set to standard - again, this seems silly but these are the things that make it so elusive to developers to find fixes.

#

ALSO - Her game speed was lowered to 60% and now it is auto reset to 100%.

We did not reset these settings, so it seems the game prefers them as upon resolution these were defaulted back.

Again, everything matters.

So my wife encountered the unresolvable crash again when trying to get 2 pets at the same time: Spiker Doo and Bast.

Upon retrying the day and not doing this, the game was still able to load, albeit it did crash upon save.

#

The fix I originally posted did still salvage a previously Unloadable save, so still give it a try and make sure to always double your back ups upon successful load (you will lose a day, but better than losing a save file) to be able to always regress to a point of entry to help the devs actually troubleshoot the issue.

#

So upon completely recreating every event, NPC interaction (Mark) and step, the only common denominator for this new crash is the pets - ibid.

So with that issue isolated the game still periodically crashes at end of day, but reloads just fine, whereas before this save was completely inaccessible.

UPDATE: The save file has been inaccessible for a couple of weeks. Haven't had time or a reason to post here.

Is there any update or progress on even isolating the issue, let alone fixing the problem? With this game being a Kickstarter project and crowd funded, I would think the crowd that funded it being able to play the game would be top priority.

I understand the logistical issues the studio has faced, and I don't completely understand the intricacies of dev, publisher, and the other relationships that go into the final release and development of the games; I do however understand that a crowd funded project requires at least updates, even if said updates are just official people (not just discord mods or community managers) saying they are working on it.

So with that said, any progress?
