- Bought several skill elixirs from town and had no skill points added
- Repro Rate I have bought skill elixirs from town, both through the mail and directly from the town center, trying to max out my last ranching skill. At no point was a skill point added from any of these attempts. The first time I tried this was soon after I became rank A, and from the town center that time (which acted a bit differently since there was a cutscene involving getting rank A). I always receive the elixir, drink it, but get no point added.
- Repro Rate I tried to buy elixirs two more times, I believe both attempts were for ranching but I may have tried another to make sure I wasn't going crazy. The last attempt was through the mail.

Hello @coral iris. Thanks for reporting the issue. Can you let us know if you're skipping the animation when the character was consuming the elixir by any chance? 😮
Did you buy many elixirs at once in a day? Did it only give you a point on your first drink, then no point on the second drink, etc? 😮

I'm having the same issue (Steam PC keyboard and mouse v1.1-1226) and it completely skipped the animation where my character drinks the potion after the first! I bought three elixirs and only the first awarded a merit point (ranching), but when I bought farming and foraging it skipped the drinking animation and didn't award the point.

When I try it at the town center, the animation didn't play at all. When I did at my mailbox, it did. I was slow and deliberate that time and it still didn't add anything. I only ever bought one elixir at once as I usually didn't save up that currency.

This happened to me too. I bought the diving and mining elixirs. Got the animation and skill point for diving, didn't get an animation or skill point for mining. But says it's sold out.

Hi again @coral iris, we checked your save file then bought elixir from the community center and sturdy computer, and both elixir give you merit point 😮
Can you share a video record of the elixir that you bought and doesn't give you merit point? 😮

I wish I could offer more information but this has happened to me too on the Xbox Series X. First time was when I stacked up to 1000 merit points and quickly bought a pair of elixirs. I can't recall the pair, but I received nothing and didn't realize it til the next morning. So, it saved. After that, I paid more attention the next time and I did get my perk point. Perhaps the "skipping" animation may be the angle to fix this bug. Finally, it happened once more and I can vaugely remember pressing my "A" button. I think you might be on too something in regards to the skipping animation. Unfortunately I had done a lot and just sucked it up and took the loss again. It's rather annoying in the sense that 1500 merit points earned through many quests/festivals were lost. I also noticed that my elixirs reset. Meaning, that the elixir I bought a previous night reset from it's "sold out" version. I can't say anything else on this but the merit points shop at the community center needs a good look because it seems bugged as hell.

Yes, this has been happening to me as well. First time I bought 2 (combat and catching), combat one worked, catching did not. I don't know if I skipped the animations, but sometimes I do push buttons too quickly, so I might have... Now I bought just one combat elixir, after it reset on the shop, and it also did not give me any points. I too recommend taking a good look through this, as merit points are something hard to come by. I am considering never bothering with them again on a future playthrough, as it is very frustrating.

Appreciate for sharing your info on the bug. If you are skipping the animation while drinking the elixir, there's been a similar report and the teams are working on it now!

hi, i had an issue where i bought 2 elixirs - the first worked and then the second didn't. so i closed out and started the game over
the next time i bought an elixir it didn't work, but i did it right at the end of a day so i progressed instead of starting the day over ... i've since gone back at the start of the following day and i can't re-buy the foraging one from the day before, and i don't have the skill point for it. i bought a second one and nothing happened. i'm not skipping the animation or moving, it just comes up with the notice that i bought it and then the notice vanishes.

the one which is now stuffed up on my save file is foraging
and the one i tested with at the start of a new day that didn't work was diving i think - but i can test again if you want

ok so since the last time i was playing i've completely closed out of the game and re-opened it (whereas last time i had simply gone back to menu then started up again).
i was still missing the foraging point, and im down 500 of the community center currency - but the elixir was available for purchase instead of sold out.
i bought it, and it worked.
so basically, the bug has set me back 500 community center currency.. that's annoying but no big deal. don't worry about it i guess! i can't re-create the issue 🙂
and i just bought the diving one and it worked too
