Hello!
I'm in winter year 1, I have the osmium bug net. I cannot catch the Spicebush Swallowtail Butterfly and the Birdwing Butterfly. When I go near them they light up in green, but I can click and try all I want, I can never catch them. I tried at least 20 times. I'm used to catching other flying bugs so I don't think I'm doing something wrong. I also set up flying bugs traps with baits, without success.
To me, it feels as if these butterflies are holograms.
I played the game several times these last few days, it was always the same.

Unable to catch some butterflies / bugs

#

I forgot to add that the same issue of a bug being clearly green and reachable but not being catchable occurs with other bugs / critter. It randomly happens sometimes. But the butterflies get me frustrated the most because I don't have them yet.

Hello @reef lodge. Thanks for reaching us. Can you share a video of the issue? It will really help us to see what's going on 😉

Thank you for sharing the video. It's really helpful for the teams to check on it 😉

Can you also share your save file with us? You can copy-paste this file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames. It's the DailySave.sav file! @reef lodge 🙂

I've had this too, but i just thought that the rarer bugs couldn't be caught after they'd started running away.. i thought this was a feature

I also thought if you scared away the rare bugs you couldn't catch them anymore. If you slowly approach the rarer bugs you can catch them before their circles reach !!! and they start flying away. Running/dashing up to them scares them away immediately.

I'd say it's a bug one way or the other... Indeed, the rarer bugs are way easier to scare off (and in some cases even approaching them slowly didn't help, I literally had to just stand in their path with the net ready). But if they are within the radius of the net and are highlighted green - then they either are supposed to be caught because they are highlighted, or should not be highlighted because they cannot be caught.

Hey @wanton vault here it is 🙂 I've played since my first message and was finally able to catch a Spicebush. Now in spring I have the same issue with other bugs (Yucca Moth, Tiger Beatle, Black Widow). But reading the other comments in this thread, maybe it's just supposed to be this way? I agree with the last person saying that once the bug turns green, it should be catchable. Otherwise, players like me might not understand and think something is wrong.
