Help underwater

I’m stuck cleaning out underwater areas. The next areas I need to get to are blocked by roots that won’t move even though I’ve cleared out all the other areas. It’s in the deep water area, is this a glitch or am I missing something?

I’ve checked and rechecked the map, everything is done except for the area I can’t get to. I’ve gone around and around following the map
