Game version 1.1-1226, on Xbox Series S via Gamepass.

100% reproduction rate - started running into this problem last night (9/1) and have reproduced this multiple times to be sure. In-game it's Summer 21 Year 2.

Basic steps: Call the anchor and surface from diving at night from the gold kelp 40m zone.

Only appears to happen at night; I am able to surface earlier in the day without issues.

Doesn't seem to matter how many items I have in my inventory, or whether I'm low on stamina or not.

Doesn't seem to matter whether I am able to heal any coral sites or not.

Details about where I am surfacing from are in the clip, though my specific location within this zone has varied.

The pauses in the clip are not relevant to this crash. The first pause in the video was me turning on the recording, and the second pause was me making sure the console was still recording.

Clip ends when the game crashes. Xbox won't let me record outside of a game.

I'm not sure how to pull a game file off an Xbox, so...

No auto chests, and town rank info is attached.

I have two chickens (one with a gold medal), two ducks, one cow with a gold medal, one sheep, and one woman's best friend (dog).

One coop, one barn, two kegs, two mayo makers, 3 Mason jars, 3 mushroom logs, 2 dehydrators, 1 aging barrel, 3 bee houses, several multi-harvest crops on my on-land farm. I haven't progressed far enough for an underwater farm.

I have screen shots of my friendship levels and mastery levels, but I'm unsure if those are relevant.

I can't really record a full day with the console's built in recording feature...it has a limit of 4 minutes, and it doesn't always tell me when it stops. If I figure out how to yank a game file off the console, I'll update.

Tested with two possible workarounds, and also experienced a crash:

  1. Using the fast travel from the mervillage to the farm. The game crashed after I selected the farm (attached).

  2. Going to the Barracks. The game crashed when I attempted to enter the Barracks (lost the clip due to my console being out of disc space).

Temporary workaround:

Day 1 (Summer 21 Year 2)

  1. pet dog
  2. check weather
  3. remove all items from dehydrator and restock to correct issue where it gets "stuck" and won't process, if it was loaded before a crash
  4. tend animals
  5. collect crops
  6. morning dive ONLY - resurface before 1800 - just to collect forageables and critters
  7. hot spring
  8. go monster hunting
  9. load furnaces
  10. go to bed
  11. crash and relaunch after save

Day 2

  1. dog
  2. weather
  3. remove items from dehydrator and reload
  4. animals
  5. crops
  6. morning dive
  7. hot spring
  8. evening dive - 1 site cleaned
  9. home/sleep
  10. crash & relaunch

Day 3:

  1. dog
  2. weather
  3. animals
  4. crops
  5. hot spring
  6. dive - forageables
  7. load dehydrator
  8. hot spring
  9. dive - 1 site cleaned, one started but not done
  10. pass out underwater from low stamina
  11. crash/save

It's not elegant, but it got me past Summer 21.

Hi Abena! I'm truly sorry to hear about the multiple crashes you've experienced. 🙇‍♀️ We appreciate you reporting this to us with detailed information!

Can you also tell us the game speed setting you chose when playing the game? You can check it on the Settings > Game.

How many donations have you made to the museum? Kindly send the screenshot of your Collection Rewards.

Can you also share a screenshot of your farm layout? Thank you!

I can't recall if it was 80% or 50% at the time when I reported this.

I can work on pulling those screen shots, but you may need to bear in mind that they are no longer accurate for this crash - especially since I found a long workaround a while ago. I have added quite a bit to the farm, and donated substantially more, since this issue first arose.

Hi Rachma,

In reviewing all of my saved screenshots and videos, I think it might be best if I point you toward the video I attached to my other crash report, on Summer 28 Year 2, a few real life days after this one (about one in-game week). That's the closest visual representation of my farm at the time of this crash, that I can provide - there are a few differences between that day and this one, in terms of farm equipment, but it is close. Refer to the list of farm items above if there is a question of whether I had a certain piece of equipment when this particular crash occurred, though, as I was thorough.

That video is a series of 4 minute clips stitched together. It is the only way I can obtain a full day recording via the Xbox built in recording functionality. The clips were assembled into a single video via my phone, and posted as an unlisted video to YouTube so you need the link to view it.

It's either that, or I provide the screenshot of my farm as it stands right now, Winter 27 Year 2, with a ton of red X's across the items I added after I worked around this crash... I'm not sure if that's helpful, but please let me know.

As far as the museum goes -

I can tell you with absolute certainty that I had NOT completed any collection categories at the time of this crash. I only completed my first category two real-life days ago. At the time of this crash, I would estimate:

  • 2 or 3 fossils
  • about 75% of insects
  • about 75% of fish
  • no sharks
  • 85% of critters
  • only one or two artifacts
  • three to five gems mixed across multiple categories
  • one or two artifacts

I was saving up most of my coffers and geodes until I had my tools upgraded to at least gold.

If you really need a picture, I can take one from Winter 27 Year 2 and write on it the values I just provided... I'm not sure if that would be useful, but you would have to tell me.

If you need help finding the other crash report and video link, let me know.
