I think it's to do with Semaru's heart event where he asks you to meet him near the surface to look for poseidon. When I enter at the diving pier it says "failed to play action - player diving montage" and then the event doesn't trigger.

If I may add to this:
I've reset my diving start location just now to start the "to the surface"-quest trigger. It places me in the water where we entered the ocean for the very first time, however there is a pop-up error message stating Fail to play action A_PlayerStartDiving_Montage
Reproduction Steps: reset the diving start location, then start diving from the dock (no teleport)
Repro Rate: one time (I reset the location again, after exiting the water, but this time the animation of dropping the ancor with the player model worked just fine)
Game Platform: Steam
Game Version: v1.1-1226
Input Mode: Keyboard and mouse
Error occured on winter 23th, 8am. I would try to reproduce the error message, but the previous day was wedding day and I don't know if something gets messed up if I switch back and forth
