Hi all,
I am in the process of switching from a switch key to a steam key and received an email earlier today from stairway confirming that I should receive a steam key soon. However they mentioned I should check my ‘Backerkit’ account for the key but I backed coral island through Kickstarter and from what I understand they’re two separate platforms. Should I just assume it’ll end up in my kickstarter account or am I supposed to have some kind of Backerkit account too?

Even if you backed through KS, the keys are sent on the backerkit platform. It will be in the same place you got the key for alpha back in the day

The 'account' they're mentioning is basically a page that you can access using the email from your Kickstarter account. Backerkit is the distribution point for all rewards.
You should enter your email that you used on this website: https://coral-island.backerkit.com/.
It will then send a direct link to your email address, which will take you to the backerkit. You should see a 'get your digital downloads' somewhere on that web page - click there and it should show you your keys
