movement bugged after switching between controller and keyboard+mouse on Steam Deck

I play on Steam deck V1.1-1223. I started paying with the steam deck controller and midway through the day I plugged in my keyboard and mouse. the movement becomes bugged like my character is moonwalking (video attached). All the controls on display still show controller buttons (ie. R joystick to change toolbar) instead of keyboard buttons.

On other occasion when I play using keyboard and mouse from the start of the game, eventually in the middle of playing the same thing will occur where the game seems to think I play using contollers instead of keyboard and then the movement will become bugged. Usually when this happens I need to quit the game.

Reproduction Steps : use keyboard and mouse instead of the steam deck controls
Repro Rate : almost every time I use keyboard and mouse

Hello @balmy mulch. I'm sorry for the late reply and thanks for the report!

Does the issue still happen in your game?

The movement is called "strafe" and it's actually one of our feature. You can try that by holding the CTRL button 🙂

Can you try holding the CTRL button and then let go to see if the character movement returns to normal?

Yes but this starts to happen the moment the game thinks I'm using a controller when I'm actually using a keyboar

As you can see from.the toolbar in the bottom screen, it shows right joystick up and down instead of the number keyboard

So from this point onward I was forced to unplug my keyboard and switch to my controller
