#Antonio Rice Quest help

I got Antonio's rice quest on day 1 of fall, planted the rice and harvested it on the deadline. But when I used the tab search thing to look for him on the map it says he's not on the map. What do I do? Does he come abck before the end of day or is this quest a lost cause?

IIRC, Antonio is only in town on friday and sat. He doesn't live on the island.
