seaweed upgraded itself more in lab

Okay, this is an odd one. I had gone in and given the 5 animal products to upgrade my seaweed once. Came back in like 5-6 days later with silver grade products to upgrade to silver and I hadn’t noticed but my seaweed had already been gold quality. And it’s apparently upgraded itself further? And I haven’t just forgotten if I had done this, I upgraded it for the first time maybe 45 real life minutes ago.

And I also know I’m not just forgetting because I only just started getting bronze and silver grade animal products. And not nearly enough to have upgraded it to gold Lol

Reproduction Steps: Upgrade underwater crops to silver quality
Game Version: v1.1-1198 on PS5
In-game date and time: Year 3, day 1 about 16:30

I've upgraded the crops to bronze the other day and started the silver quality upgrade afterwards.
Today i wanted to check if it's done but instead the seaweed was upgraded to gold.
I have not done any of the seaweed upgrades before, i dont even own underwater animals right now so it's impossible to do for me, the seaweed was upgraded from nothing to gold.
I cant tell you exactly when i started the silver quality upgrade but it was end of winter in year 2.

Meanwhile i made the silver upgrade again and upgraded to gold and osmium later on, i did not encounter any other odd behaviour, the seaweed is still on gold.

I'm sorry but it dont have a video for this one.
I cant even tell you the exact in-game date because it's already a while ago and i cant remember 😦
There was no reason to rush it, so maybe it was already done for some days when i found out that i can start the silver upgrade.
My best guess is that i started the bronze upgrade around 20th winter in year 2.

Hi I also ran into this issue. I thought I had upgraded my underwater crops fully (forgot when I did the 1st time) but never got osmium crops. When I went back to the lab to make sure it had been 2 days I noticed that it was still a purchase option so I assumed I had failed to upgrade. I started the osmium crop upgrade again on the 1st of winter year 5. Then on the 3rd when I went back to see if it had worked I noticed that the seaweed had been upgraded fully rather than the crops despite not owning a single underwater animal and osmium crop upgrade was purchaseable again. I saved and quit and reloaded hoping it would fix the issue but it still lingers. When I reloaded backup save for day 2 of winter I also noticed that it says seaweed is being upgraded rather than crops. I play on Steam Deck currently on v1.1-1226

Thanks for sharing this. May I ask if you can upgrade the Underwater Seeds to Osmium quality now?

Unfortunately when I hit purchase this screen popped up and naturally I went to send it in and crashed my Steam deck and the game eventually shut down and went to a verifying install screen. I was able to get a picture but I'm not sure if anything on it will be of any use. I will definitely try again later when I have time to play again and provide an update.

You're welcome! It happens so no worries. Thank you to everyone involved for being so active in hearing from the community regarding bugs and working so actively on fixing them. I have been having issues with the deck itself crashing randomly and trying to sort with Steam thus the obnoxious overlay. I will definitely post a report over there for the team.

I reported the crash with what little info I had in the crash channel. I was able to purchase the seeds this time around with no crashes and they did actually upgrade this time around.

I had pretty much the same thing as nmc happen. I upgraded my seeds, which fully upgraded my seaweed, tried reupgrading and the game crashed (using controller), then i retried (using keyboard and mouse this time) and it worked. Here are some of the backups save : 5 and 6 are (i think) the day i upgraded the first time and the day after, 7 is when i re upgraded and it crashed, and also the crash log. Thank you!
