Merfolk Chaperone Part 3 Quest not triggering

hii i wanted to know whether there are prerequisites to triggering the merfolk chaperone part 3 quest. as of now ive finished the 1st and 2nd part of the quest, i finished the last one on fall. it's currently winter 22 and i still havent received the 3rd part of the quest. can someone pls help me.

i just was having a look and apparently its a rank A quest but im rank B and got the first two quests?

There isn’t a 3rd part. They are just on land during those dates going forward. Is it saying “wait for the next dates” in your journal? Because that would be the bug.

it says on the wiki theres 4 quests? i dont have another quest in my journal ive only done 2 like i believe the first person is the same, but im only rank B so will something trigger at rank A?

We were told in Beta that there would only be 2 quests. If you don’t have a quest (like the one telling you to wait for the dates like in quest part 1 and 2) then there won’t be another one. But the merfolk will be on land so you can go and visit them and if you have enough hearts can do hangouts with them.

@frank lantern is this still a thing? https://coralisland.wiki/wiki/Merfolk_Chaperone_Part_3 We were told in beta that only 2 parts to the chaperone quest but you guys have all 4 parts in the official wiki. We also don’t get a prompt for the other 2 parts in game right now so is that a bug?

The fact that there isn’t a quest pop up suggests it’s either not in game and the wiki is out of date, or there’s a bug.

noo, there are no quest prompts in my journal. it vanished right after i finished the second part (i got a mystery geode and starfruit for finishing that). thank you for replying thoo.

Sounds like they were really cute cutscenes so I hope it’s just a bug and they took them out for reasons that they are fixing.

this is the exact same thing that's happening to me. im also currently in rank b, close to getting rank a. ill wait and see if anything happens by the time my town rank upgrades to a.

Rank has nothing to do with these quests. Rank A is to trigger the merfolk resupply one.

The expedition quests are part of merfolk storyline, & only care about merfolk story progression so it’s ocean rank A, but overall town rank it doesn’t care 🙂

Iirc from beta chats, Mom had said that it IS intended to be a 4 part quest (major WIP still tho during our beta for rest of it)
& it was more so that we only HAD to complete the first expedition in order to unlock merfolk dating
& iirc that only first 2 parts were likely to be completed / added at this time (so probs 1.2 I’d guess now for rest of it)

I also completed Merfolk Chaperone Part 2 in Winter. It said to wait for next season to do Part 3. On Spring Day 8, I noticed the Spring expedition dates run from day 8-14. It was after noon, so I missed that day. I could have sworn it said to meet in front of the museum though. Now it is Spring day 9, sunny weather, and the quest message changed back to "Wait until next expedition date" and going to the museum doesn't trigger. I am at Rank S, completed all of the other merfolk orchestra quests, 1,000 crop submission, etc.
