Screen going black after cutscenes

After all events i've encountered my screen has gone completely black after it. The only way I've found to get out of it is to use a warp sesajen and teleport somewhere??

Hellooo! I think this occurrence had been outside of the tavern after a surface expedition cutscene i think? Like the cutscene plays fully with everything working but then after it's over the screen goes black as seen in the screenshot. I had also gotten black screen after another expedition cutscene, as well after a few other misc ones, one being in the forest, one being outside the museum i think, and one in the mermaid kingdom, although these times were scattered over a few days.
As for the save file.. I dont think i have it 😅 Or at least can't find it

I have also encoutered black screens like this one, 4 times today. It's spring, year 3 (they all happened during this year). It's triggered by almost any cutscene it seems

• first one : at the beginning of the tree planting festival, after the first cutscene (when you go to the location). Had to reload.
• second one : also at the tree planting festival, but after the other cutscene ( when you are done planting trees). I managed to find the exit and the game got back to normal.
• third one : spring 22, after Charles eight hearts cutscene. Also managed to get out of his house and the game was back to normal.
• fourth time : after the cutscene for completing the requirements for starlet expedition with the merfolks

I'm on PC (Steam)

(quitting the game seems to have fixed it for now)

As for the save file, you can copy-paste this file path to your File Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames
It's the "DailySave_(number).sav" files. You can zip the SaveGames folder and send it here later if the issue reappears. Thank you!

Unfortunatly I didn't think of recording it back then....but "luckily" it just happened again XD

Here is my record. It first happened after a date cutscene, so I triggered another cutscene the same day.

Not sure if it's related, but that black screen only occurred after hours of playing without any pause ( around 6 hours in row I think)

Hi Morosa! After we opened the file, it turned out to be the file for Fall 19.
Do you still have the save or backup file on the day the issue happens (Fall 23)?

Oh, the BackupSave 2_4 is for Fall 24, and 2_5 is for Fall 25.
Perhaps you can share again the Backup files with the numbers 2_3 and 2_6.

Not to hijack this, but I had this EXACT issue. It turned out it was because I had a mod installed incorrectly. It was this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/coralisland/mods/26. I had the .pak files loose in the Paks folder. I reread the directions on the mod, and left the folder structure of the mod intact. I no longer get black screens.

Hi ! No poblem, to be honest, it didn't happen again. Since I'm back to work, I have less time to play, so I haven't played for more than 6 hours in a row without closing the game (I'm pretty sure that's what triggered it, since it only happened after hours and hours of playing both time).
If it happens again, I will write it down here !

i have this issue also on ps5. Screen is black after every single cutscene and also upon entering a festival so you cannit participate in the festival. Unplayable untill this is fixed

Started a hang out session with Scott in his house and when the cut scene finished the inside of the house was as pictured above.
This is the first time this has happened
On steam
vs 1.1-1226
keyboard and mouse
leaving the house and coming back inside fixed this.

Hi this happened to me when after i asked rafael to go to the lake for a picnic then when it finished i was in the blacksmiths and it was black i had to wander around to try find the door and after i exited the door it was fine I'm on Xbox series X

hi! id like to add this also happened to me, in lab after a fishing date at the lake with surya!
i came back right as the lab closed for the day so it mightve registered the place as closed?
void was no longer an issue after i made my way out!

Not sure if you guys still need data - but it regularly happens to me in FishnSips, the Blacksmith and just now in the Clinic. Always after a hangout cutscene.

This just happened to me at least 3 times. The first time I didn't make a mental note of where I was, but it was in the fall. The second and third times, however, were both at the Spooky Day Festival. It occurred right at the beginning of the festival, so I had to wander around until I found one of the minigames, which fixed it. The third time was right after Ogoh Ogoh Parade. Finding my way to the exit of the festival fixed it again. I'm playing on an Xbox Series X.

I just joined the discord just to see if this bug had been reported. Not sure if additional info is still needed, but this has happened to me at least 3-4 times after a date with Raphael. If I ask him to hang out when he's in the blacksmith building, the date cutscene will end and the characters will be hovering in black empty space. Once I find my way out of the building, the game continues as normal afterwards.

I also had this issue today - first time encountering this bug. Initiated Feeding Flamingos hangout with Wakuu while inside the observatory. After hangout the interior texture were not loaded. Wakuu still went about his routine and I was able to leave building. No issues in overworld or upon re-entering building. on PC
