Fainted during Tree Planting Festival due to stamina consumption
Reproduction Steps: I was doing the festival normally and then noticed my stamina was being used.
Repro Rate: First time playing it

This is probably a bug introduced with the -1220 or -1221 patch. I started a new game after the version 1.1-1198 released and the tree planting festival definitely did not consume stamina.

Do you have any Candied Tree Seeds? Are you able to eat those during the festival?

I was afraid of that. That means no work-around. I don't see this bug listed as corrected in the -1222 patch notes so I guess this is still an issue.

Still occurring v1.1-1221! This was a new one as - previously - when doing this festival your stamina level was frozen at whatever level it was upon arrival. No, the food items I was carrying (always carrying some of the Candied Tree Seeds at the very least) are cleared out of inventory as Elodea mentioned. BTW, stamina level is not always frozen during festivals so new players will want to watch that.

I've done the tree planting festival too however I did pass out and I lost all the stuff I had bought and all my tools I had in my inventory because of this.

I even tried to go to sleep to see if that fixed it for the next day (It didn't) and I tried reloading the save too however it didn't work either.

I didnt pass out, so this save is the day of the festival which might be helpful for the team.

not sure what save to give (as I have 4) but this is the most recent dated one, can attach all if you need.

Hello;

I did try a work around, it worked for me.
You can still craft and it dose place an item in your inventory. So make sure you can craft something to replenish stamina and you should be good.

Andreas, thank you for the tip! Do the tree seeds and sap need to be in your inventory before you start the festival? Or can they be in a chest on your farm? (I think the festival shop sells tree seeds IIRC.)

Also managed to get past it just by having full stamina before going in and being careful

It didn't work for me sadly...I had candied seeds, as soon as I got in the minigame it made them disappear, so I had nothing to use for stamina

I joined this discord just to report this issue and I wasn't surprised that it already happened to someone else.

Same problem here. Unfortunately this problem causes me to completely lose the save, due to the loss of the tools.

I also have the same issue! A work around for me was to use the save backup to restart the day. I decided that skipping the festival and moving on in the save would work until they get a chance to fix it.

I am currently playing on steam deck. Participated in the tree festival, and depleted my stamina. I lost all my tools, my candy seeds, bouquet of flowers, everything. Returned home only with items from the tree festival.

I was able to click on my backup save file, and go back to the day of the tree festival.

I got it to work but it would be good for players to know to empty your pockets and put all your stuff in a chest and go in with full energy.

I also experienced this bug (festival draining energy) year 1. I did have enough energy to get through the festival (after restarting the day and making sure I had max stamina). I do have the upgraded scythe so maybe that helped. Playing on the latest update

I encountered the bug, too. My first save stamina was not used. This time it was and I passed out. Not only that, but my inventory was not returned to me. I have a hoe and that's it for tools. I have trash and stuff I cleared before I passed out, too.

I'm pretty sure this save is toast. Makes a very good argument for multiple save slots. Say one auto save and one manual save per character.

@steel saffron I believe you can get your tools back at the blacksmith, maybe that helps saving your safe file?

It does a bit. I have to check the beach house for the net and fishing pole. Not sure where to get the sword. I have to wonder what would happen in the case of upgraded weapons. Would they be retrieved upgraded or not? Would be rough having to upgrade them again.

Maybe you can get a new weapon at the band of smiles? I'm not that far yet so I don't know about other type of upgrades :/

The bronze upgrades cost 2000 gold plus wood and bronze ingots for each item.

I got the same problem that Jas had to. I know I will be returned many tools back by blacksmith and at the beach. But the other things in my bag was gone too (gems, fossil, food, fruits, clothes or anything that I brough to the Festival and got some fainted). It's not a big deal bc I can find my way to take it back but just wanna tell the dev team.Scott_Crying_Emoji

Did some experimenting. Make sure you have full energy going into the festival. Leave all other items but your those needed for the festival in a box at home. Use strategic clearing to clear multiple things to a time (e.g. position your toon so it scythes multiple trash or greens in one swing). Logs, obviously, don't have this option. I had 504 stamina to start. Cleared part A at around half stamina. Part B is 44 slots at 2 stamina each. Not sure what the tree planting costs. But it is doable. Take your time and make each swing count and this event can be completed with the bug.

it just happened to me. blacked out and hit the day over page... but I didn't go forward. not sure if I'm stuck now. But I bought a lot of seeds and tree candy - are they all gone now? (along with the money)

The rewards from the festival are merit points (a lot actually) and a fruit seedling (the kind that dies off after a couple seasons if not planted inside the greenhouse). Technically these aren't permanently missable because you can buy fruit seedlings from Sam (depends on the season) and you get merit points from completing townsfolk errands and other festivals.

That being said, the replanting event culminates over three in-game years. If the first year is missed, I don't know if the first set of trees get planted without the player or if the festival is canceled because there weren't enough participants.

Thank you for the info on backup saves. I was literally an inch from shelving this game never to return again, so dismayed by the halting progress of losing all my tools due to passing out at the festival. Phew

this just happened to me. i fainted during the festival as well. now im stuck on the next day with none of my tools and i have the quest for the festival still. I cant play the game till this is fixed.

same thing just happened to me, i went in with less than half stamina and it used up my stamina while i was in the mini game. I did not get my orig inventory back and i keep almost every tool on me so they are all lost but the axe and sythe. I did do the back up save deal and went back one day, so glad that is a thing i had no idea about it. ill just have to avoid going to that festival it seems.

Just experienced this issue Year 1 on v1.1-1223 (Steam) ☹️ was down to 6HP before realizing I didn’t have any items to craft snacks, so I just restarted the day. Hope it gets fixed soon!

Hi, I took part in the tree planting festival and fainted. Then I woke up in the hospital but without my things and somehow I can't get them back. Is this a bug or do I have to do something? I don't want to lose my save and start over. Please Help😅

hey just wanted to say I followed the advice from the duplicate thread and before I started the festival I stashed enough seeds and sap in my global chests to craft four candied tree seeds during the event. You have to do it when the activity starts, but it was enough to keep my stamina up enough and finish the event. I also tried to enter the event with full stamina and be careful about conserving my tool usage during the trash clearing.

Just wanted to confirm this method works for now until they hotfix it.

I assume crafting during the activity is a bug as well 😓 but in this case it helped me get around the bigger bug
