I wasnt able to play the new years festival. as soon as i started the festival i was asked if i want to quit the festival. clicking no wasnt changing anything. im playing the steam version on pc

I suggest uploading the save files here, wait for more info from the devs themselves.

If you still want to experience the new year festival, open your save backup (you can do this by first open setting, go to game tab, and scroll down until you see "show backup" and toggle to "yes") and check the "show backup" on where you load your save. Select the day before (28th Fall).

Though, if you haven't progress the next day, you can just restart the day.

That’s happened to me as well. I started the festival, it showed the cute little artwork on the screen for the festival.. then just immediately went to 12am and there was no festival but the residents all comment about how I was there and I got merit points for it yet I never was able to enjoy it :/
