It sounds bizarre, but whenever I try to give Wakuu a mango it just doesn't give me the option to gift it to him, it goes straight to the hangout prompt. This doesn't happen with other gifts, just the mangoes (although I haven't tried it with other loved gifts). I tried closing and reopening the save file but that didn't help either. I'm playing on steam v. 1.1-1198 with keyboard and mouse.

I have this problem too. I think you can give lower quality mangos just not gold or osmium
