So I’ve started a new game, so I’m clearing the ocean currently & I am finding all these solar fragments what are they actually used for?

They're for crafting Solar Cores which you would need to upgrade stuff once underwater farming gets unlocked for you.

Oh so I got a long ways to go haha, so I guess just better collect them not sell them off

Or if you have enough, you can just buy the cores from Cho Oyu. You’ll need 10 of those to craft one Core
