The trap is still catching bugs every now and then, however I haven't been able to add bait to it, and I've double checked that i made the flying insect scent. I'm trying to increase my odds of catching a blue morpho butterfly and am currently struggling to spawn any in my drought of a summer so far...

You're holding the scent when you walk up to it? Sometimes you have to be right on top of it. Some click zones have been a bit touchy

Yeah i'm holding it and clicking multiple times around it, the only thing that 'triggers' is when i use left* click to Eat it, otherwise nothing.
I will retry. I've also attempted "reset" the trap by picking it up and replacing it
