It only shows one level up at the end of the day. If you level up multiple sections you won't know until the next day when you unlock the crafting recipes. For example, I leveled up farming and I think logging/foraging. Was only alerted to the farming level up. Next day I see that I unlocked the wooden fence/gate/path in addition to the farming recipes.
This has happened a few times so far. It didn't used to do this before the update. I started a new file after the update if that helps. No idea if it's only affecting new saves or not.
