Hidy ho, since the new update dropped, the breeding ponds for fish I have on the farm haven't produced new fish. At all. Played for about a month in-game so far.

I've got the same problem, my ponds and insect houses are not working since the update. Taking the fishes/insects out and putting them back in did not help either.

can i ask if they worked befor, and just stopped afterwards? like a change in season (working in spring, not working in summer) because some people have the same problem, and noticed having this in common

They worked perfectly fine for me before the update.
My playthrough (after the update) continued mid summer year 2, the fish and insects simply stopped breeding - I have multiple ponds and insect houses on my farm, not one is working properly.
I am at the start of winter now, so during nearly 2 ingame seasons they worked only once during summer (I didn't pay attention to the date, sry). They worked after I went to bed and somehow triggered the sequence with Archie and one giant dancing in the city, followed directly by the announcement sequence of Karen trying to become the new major (I had seen both sequences previously and triggered them again somehow when I went to bed). After that all ponds and houses were fully breed for one day only.
The second time the breeding process worked was from the 26th - 28th fall, they worked for 3 days and stopped working since.

i think its similar with the machine stuck bug, you need to reload/restrart your game :d

Having the same issue as well on PC after the update, I’m in about a month (in-game time) and it only breed once in the season (spring Y2) before changing seasons (summer Y2). After summer it stopped breeding completely for both fish & bug

Hello, I also noticed this same incident, I was unable to produce anything for almost a month and now I can't even donate it to the museum bc i have only one copy. I play on PC Xbox. 😦

Mine fully stopped breeding as well since the new update. My insect breeding too. I’m on PS5. I’ve tried restarting the game from title screen and my PS5 countless times, which used to work to kickstart it back up (bc this used to happen from time to time). That hasn’t worked and now it just doesn’t at all. I’m sad because it was a HUGE source of income.

Same, have had bugs/fish in there for an entire season without them multiplying.

Same, on my save it is breeding but only on days I don't go underwater otherwise it stops

In my case, the fish pond and artisans etc. Stopped working after i finished diving. Either via teleport or boat, it just stops after you surfaced. Perhaps this was the trigger for fish pond etc. bug?

I try a workaround by making my trips to the ocean counts and reload the save once i've slept. This fixed the issue. But, with the additional ocean farming, well... this is a pickle.

In my case artisans work, but the fish pond and insect house don't breed. I even build a new fish pond and waited for a new season to start before putting in a fish, but so far no luck. Playing on Steam/PC.

Same, Playing on PC and I have 2 ponds and 1 insect house that seem like they're paused. I'm currently in year 4 if it matters. (edit: grammar)

I mean, it's difficult to share a video because theres... literally nothing to take a video of? The number simply never changes. The only way a video would be of any use would be to record an entire season to show that it never goes up

The reproduction of the bug is whenever you enter/leave diving area, i think its mostly the case
so ive tried to wait 5 days in game without going diving, the fishpond/insect house is still working
After that i went diving, then go back to land's farm. I try to wait 5 days, the fish pond/insect house has started to be bugged, it doesnt increase at all

^Fish Ponds/insect house weren't the only ones affected also. It may affect beehouses, aging barrel, solar panels (artisans that takes long time than cheese).

Yep. Did just that. Usually after waking up and noticing they're not producing/stuck.

My ponds and insect farms were working in fall (after the update) and stopped working in winter. I have started to go diving regularly in winter too, so it doesn´t have to contradict the experience of other users.

My fish ponds, insect farms and mushroom logs will only work for 2-3 days at a time even right after the update, then you need to completely close out of the game and go back in to have them start working briefly again.

this is happening to me as well. in addition, the mushroom logs also stopped working. it's been 2 seasons with no mushrooms and no new fishies 😦

My experience: I had them all full since I don’t need money but my friend told me it was bugged so I emptied (leaving 1) in 2 of them and nothing for 2 weeks now. Steam PC version 1.1

I have tested it and really depends on diving for me. The ponds stop working when I go to the merfolk world. If I quit to the menu after the diving and going to sleep everything works fine.

I had this issue for a whole season lol but taking them all out and then putting them back helped me.

My fishponds started to work again after the update, but I have only played for a couple days so far, so I do not know if it will stay that way. The solar panels appeared that they may be getting stuck still, but I am not sure.

Update after playing to late fall: The fish ponds have not worked again since that one time at the season change(which might have been because I was stuck in one place for a wedding). The other machines seem to be working at least most of the time. I still go diving every single day as I have done for a while.
Windows 10, Steam in latest update version.

tested on my save - only spawning if I stay above the sea. if I visit my underwater farm, the spawning doesnt happen

Just a head ups, but i think that is related to teleporting to the underwater(farm?) or the savannah, or both. If you dont go to those places, the fish pond/insect house works just fine.
