Am I going to lose all progression? The contents of my chests? Friendship with neighbors? I imagine that this message has gone out to. This message appears when loading the game: Save updated version

This version of the game does not support your saved data. Continuing with this save will put your character at the beginning of the game, and all progression data will be reset except: gold, inventory, farm layout, interior, and mastery.

Safe?

You haven’t played since EA have you? Basically old EA files were not compatible with 1.0. So they created an NG+ system. Your old EA save will basically start at the character creation but you will be given all the gold you earned in that EA save (not the gold in your wallet, all the gold you got over the entire save. Ie it could say 10,000 on the save but when you actually start it you may end up with 50,000 coins. It’s a great way to start fresh with gold to buy upgrades quicker, jamu for stamina etc.

If you haven't played since before 1.0, yes. You will keep all the money you ever made on that save, but you are going to start from the character creator screen.

#

ope, I didn't see that Library already answered you until I hit enter.

Yes, you will lose absolutely everything except for all your money. You are going to start a completely fresh game, but with all your money

Do you mean Stairway games?
There's nothing to fix. The pre1.0 save is not compatible. It won't run. The fix WAS everyone needed to start over

wow

Yes. I'm telling you. EVERYONE lost their games when it went from early access to 1.0. They told us in advance so we could be ready for it

Well, I read someone who thinks he will be able to recover his game in an update. You will not know that it is irrecoverable 😦

I assure you, it is. You can grab your pre save and paste it into the save file, but it will not run. Nothing is compatible. The altar is different, the quests are different, what NPCs like are different. I assure you, if someone told you they could fix it, they were not correct

I know it's not the best news, but you'll have a better experience playing a smoother, complete game now

it should not happen again. now that the game is released, there shouldn't be anything else major changing

#

during early access and testing, a lot of stuff changed due to player feedback, or just balancing, and it ended up with some janky issues were some people couldn't ever complete the altars, or quests wouldn't trigger unless you manually did it, and it was just better to clean slate everyone
