Bug with Friendly Hearts with Semeru

Hello, im little worried because i dont know if im bugged... Well i explain as better as i can, im in autum 27, just with the Second Expedition in Land for Melkford. Since i can be friendly with them, i gifted Semeru his loved items (wine and beer), 2 each week. I reach 4 hearts so fast with this, but im actually at 3th week gifting him that items i meant before,, and still stucked in 4 hearts. I watched his 3 heart event, and i went Hangout 2 times in this week they are in the Land... and still 4 hearts. Never increase. Its normal this? I check a guide for see how many points for next friendly level i need, and im passed for much them... So, im asking if im bugged or need another thing for continue increasing the friendly level with him. Thanks for your time, and hope you can help me with this question.

having the same issue, stuck on one heart with semeru despite giving gifts. I was able to increase Denali, so it's definitely something wrong with Semeru specifically

I can’t even get him to 1 heart. I give him beer every day and his affection doesn’t budge

Question, do you all have the Merfolk Chaperone pt 3 quest completed or at least unlocked? I'm having the same issue with Semeru stuck at 8 hearts, but the 3rd part of the Chaperone quest isn't showing for me after finishing the 2nd.

Okay so from what I saw on reddit. To past 8 hearts with the merfolk, you have to complete the chaperone quests and there are 4 of them total.

So the issue is that the 3rd quest isn't triggering for some of us for some reason.

Dang it, I just tried showing up at the museum during the spring expedition date to see if it would happen even without the quest popping up and it didn't trigger. Looks like we're stuck 😦

Winter one won't activate but somehow I made it to 9 hearts with him. It's the 10th stuck. Now I know why

I saw they fixed a bug for him but hopefully soon this one will be fixed as it seems to be due to the chaperone quest bugging out for us

I gave him the locket and he accepted it after the 2nd chaperone quest

I'm pretty sure it was after the 2nd quest anyways, may have been after the 1st? I remembered from beta that he wouldn't take the locket until after the chaperone quest so I didn't bother trying before that.

I gave the locket after I completed the second part of the Merfolk Chaperone Quest and he accepted it. From there I was able to increase his heart into 8 hearts but I have never been able to increase it to 10 since. For context, I also haven’t been able to access the third part of the Merfolk Chaperone Quest.

I don't remember the date, but I do remember that it was winter. The 3rd chaperone quest never came up for me either

And the date was the first day of the winter chaperone option, year 2

i finished all 4 of the mermaid chaperone quests, gave multiple apple wine to semeru since then and his heart icon wont budge 😦 it’s still on the 8th heart. is this another bug?

Reached the date to start the winter chaperone event and its still telling me to wait. Hopefully it pops up between those dates.

It shows up in the quest at least but other than that nothing else.

Went from 22-25 of those dates and still nothing 🥹 I remember them starting the day of

If you were already in winter when the hot fix came out you'll have to advance to the next season to do the quest - I was in spring and had to wait until the summer expedition. But his hearts still aren't moving now that I've finished all 4 quests

I just tried to give him another locket and the "propose" option pops up but nothing happens you when actually push the button to give it to him. Also tried to give him a ring even though I'm only at 8 hearts and he said "let's get to know each other better first" like buddy that's what I'm trying to do!

I'm stuck at 5 hearts for Semeru and have completed chaperone 3. I was hoping I had to wait for the 4th to trigger but I see that's not the issue. Grinding out these wines and beers to get no heart progression is ugh!

Here's some new info - since I couldn't get anywhere with Semeru I tried Denali and Miranjani. Gave them both lockets and 4 pink diamonds apiece and their hearts are stuck at 8 just like Semeru. Seems I'm blocked from increasing hearts with ANY of the date-able merfolk. All the others got to 10 hearts just fine.

Maybe its due to us giving him the locket before completion of the chaperone quest. I've seen others married to him just fine but unfortunately he doesn't keep rejecting the locket until the 4 chaperone quests are done so maybe the script gets confused. I have completed the events and he still is stuck at 9 hearts. Only dateable merfolk face this problem.

Hmmm..not that I could find on the wiki. I think you can date anyone. Marrying is when you have to settle down for one person.

I never did Chaperone 4 because it didnt trigger or show in my tasks. However I looked today and it is under completed. I don't know if that is affecting my Semeru from advancing hearts but he is stuck at 5 hearts regardless of gifts, hangouts, birthday gift.

So far, I've completed the 3rd chaperone Misson, taken him on 2 dates and gave him his two loved gifts for the week. The game says my bond with him is increasing but I think someone needs to tell him that

aaaah thank you I didn't think of that!! I've played too much to load a save from before I gave him a locket, but I kept a mostly-completed town save from before 1.1 dropped!! I forgot about it until now. Bummed that I'll still have to do the S-rank grinding over again but at least I'm not starting completely from scratch, and THIS TIME I'll remember to save a backup before I give anyone lockets. 🥹

Okay, went back to a pre-locket save. Finished all the chaperone quests. Gave him a locket. Aaaaand STILL stuck at 8 hearts. I'm curious now - any idea if the people who've managed marriage did it before hitting town rank S? Maybe that's what's locking the mer-folk hearts down? It certainly doesn't stop you from increasing hearts with anyone on land, but all 3 of the dateable mer-folk are locked at 8 hearts for me even after waiting to complete the chaperone quest to give them lockets. @lime hull do you remember if you hit 9 hearts before or after reaching town rank S?

Maybe the devs can test to see if S rank is locking mer-hearts in place then, or one of the others on here going back to an old save file. It's gonna be a couple weeks before I have time to try again with my old file to test it myself. Maybe there'll be a patch before then.

Possibly! I loaded up the old save again today but wasn't able to get very far with it to test the theory, just got the quest active. I'll do what I can to get through all 4 quests the next few days and see if I can romance/marry him before hitting s rank! Let us know if you're able to as well, I think if we both find that mer-hearts get locked in place after s-rank we should open up a new bug report pointing it out, I'm going to test all 3 of them on this save since all 3 of them got locked at 8 hearts for me after hitting s-rank in the other 2 saves.

I believe that both gifts were both gifted while playing on PC, but I don't recall clearly.

I'm currently having this bug. I gave him the locket after reaching Rank S and after the "final" expedition cutscene in the palace. Since giving him the locket, I have gifted him 2 Osmium beers and talked to him and hugged him everyday. He is still stuck at 8 hearts. I went into the backups on this save and tried giving him the locket before reaching Rank S and after the expedition cutscene. He is still bugged. I have also got the resupply the kingdom cutscene and still bugged!

Okay, got there sooner than expected, but I'm on save #4 trying to marry Semeru, this time putting off rank S to test a theory I had that it was what was "freezing" his hearts. Finished all 4 quests, gave the locket. Still can't get past 8 hearts. I'm afraid it's time to put Coral Island aside and play other games until the devs can fix this bug, I'm officially sick of this. Sorry guys

Hello everyone! Our team has checked this and we can increase Semeru's heart to 9 and 10 without any issue in the latest version 1.1-1225.
We've also used your save files for testing.
Could you please try again to talk to Semeru every single day and also give his favorite items every week you get the chance?

Every heart level has different Heart Point Requirements, therefore, you might need a longer process to gain 9 and 10 heart levels.

Well somehow randomly it just work. I gave him wine and beer every time I gave gifts and talk everyday. Somehow randomly heart just went to 10 XD not sure how that work

It took something like 15-20 pink diamonds (lost track) but I did finally get him to 10 hearts in my most recent save. Haven't tested the old saves yet.

Okay, loaded up one of my S-rank saves. Got Semeru as well as Denali and Miranjani all up to 10 hearts - took 15 pink diamonds each to get them up from 8 to 10. So for now seems like hearts are fixed for me!

I gifted him a pink diamond and now I'm on 10 hearts with my current save

Didnt reload an old one and did it with the save giving me trouble. Switching from the wine to the pink diamon helped and gifted him around 10 before I got the achievement

I gave it to him from the 8th of spring to the 3rd of autumn. No change. Gifted him it twice a week and also talked to him every day and invited him out when he was on land.

I'm still stuck on 5 hearts with SEmeru. No change regardless of loved gifts and birthday gifts. ZERO progress on his hearts over several seasons. All chaperone quests are done and Im Town rank S.
