#Performance issues on steam deck

Hi! @karmic nova thanks for sharing your report here. To have a better look with the team, is it possible to send a video showing the issue you described above?
You can record it with your phone and drop it here anytime you can!
As shown in the video, after the screen loads after entering and leaving any place, my character is stuck for about 2 seconds before the game fully loads and let me move
Having same issue, had to mess with settings to stop the stuttering at the cost of graphics, using medium settings and lowered to 40 fps and it still stutters
Having the same issue here with my Steamdeck. Lowered the settings to medium seems to work better.
Hi @plain valley we're currently investigating this issue, may i know what steam deck are you playing on? and is it possible to share a video when this issue occur on your steamdeck? You can record it from your phone and drop it here! 😉
Hi @astral idol may i know what steamdeck are you using?
I'm using OLED
I'm trying to record a video but the stutters don't show up as well on video 😦
Also reporting stuttering and "sticky" graphics on Steam Deck. I have the LCD 512 deck, but I'm running MUCH more graphics heavy games like Starfield and Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate 3 without ANY graphics or processing issues, so this is definitely not my Deck, but is a game issue with CI. When I play on PC, the same game is fine (and that PC cannot play the above graphics heavy games, it's much less powerful than my Deck)
This is an example of the "sticky" movement and loading - it's not significant, but it's consistent and hurts my eyes
It's hard to see in the video like others have mentioned, but it's definitely there - the smooth momentum I see when I play on PC is absent
The first edition SteamDeck.
also seeing this issue after 1.1. i have the 1tb oled deck and the game ran fine prior to 1.0
The sticky graphic/stutter just actually caused a crash bad enough to shut off my entire steam deck 😬
I play on steam deck 512gb the first edition v1.1-1222 and I also have been experiencing really bad stutters. before the v1.1 update I can run on medium settings just fine but now even with low settings it stutters so bad.
I tried playing on desktop mode and strangely the fps was better, still have stutters tho
Hi @dry atlas , is there any update on the performance issues for the steam deck?
Hi @serene leaf , the team is still working on fixing it and running tests on steamdeck.
Awesome, thank you for the update!
Came in to add: the stutters usually happen when loading into a new area, such as from the farm to the town, or when you exit diving and show up on the pier
came in to add. updated the game to V1.1-1223 and even on low settings I still have stutters especially when loading into a new area like arriving at a new level in the cave
Hopefully this is still being worked on. Great game, but I keep having to get through the rest of a day with horrible UI lag, then restart after it saves. Here's some info. I don't think the save matters here, but I can go find it if you like, and post it.
Title: Map/Inventory/UI lags on Linux with Proton
Reproduction Steps: Play for a while, but mostly, go diving and come back, then open the inventory or map.
Repro Rate: Not 100% of the time, but most of the time after diving
Game Platform: Steam on Linux with Proton 9.0-3
Game Version: v1.1-1226
Input Mode: Keyboard and mouse
Although I've had it where it lags the main game (might be leaving it alt-tabbed, since I stopped doing that so much, and haven't had that in a day or two), it's almost always various UI screens like: the map, inventory screen and all the associated ones. Usually the game is running ok otherwise, maybe a bit of reduced FPS.
Almost always happens when I exit diving, but it started lagging those UI elements while diving yesterday. And also once I went diving and it didn't start lagging.
Interestingly, when it's lagging the inventory and such, I can still open a chest and manipulate things without lag, if that helps.
