After 1.1 update retrieve lost equipment bug

I upgraded my axe to bronze before the update. I now cannot find it but went to the blacksmith to retrieve it. In the blacksmith menu i clocked "Bronze axe". Once it was back in my inventory it was not bronze but the starting base axe.
